So before we went home got some PIZZA!

Saturday night had a great night out with
some co-workers and friends!
We went to the greated burger place,
Red Robin!! I love it. I tried '5 alarm burger'

It was so great to have a break from workworkworkwork

Little update just so u know i'm alive :P

I'm moving again! At December 1st, im really excited.
It's pet friendly too and there is a kitty!! Yahoo~~
Pretty much the house i'm in now became a party house
and I can't sleep well at all, been so stressed cuz
I've also been working almost 50hrs a week,
today was the last day of 26 days in a row of work... fml
Love my roomies now but they just can't keep quiet at all.
Living with 2 people is better than living with 8 people :)

Drama happening with one of my jobs, not good at all...
and working in Richmond will be way too far of a commute
once I move, so tomorrow i'm job hunting yet again too...

So far I have been wearing a few costumes at work！

That's a really fun part of my job in this season :)
I love costumes! I feel nostalgic about cosplay in highschool, hahaha

A family owns the store im in and the one next door,
the one next door has halloween costumes!
So we promote their costumes in the shoe store by wearing them.

I tried on a lot which don't suit me at all, but I found
some which I really like!

We also sell some costumes in the lingerie store but they
are mooooore cheap quality (except the one I bought hehe)

I'm supposed to be a 'ravishing rogue pirate' or smth like that
Also alice! Don't mind the leggings and cons :) Work uniform
you could say, working in a shoe store haha

I wore this one twice because this is my favorite!!!!!

The flapper girl is from the lingerie store im working at,
I bought that one for halloween because I wanted a dress
I could wear in another occasion too :)
The gypsy one is waaaaay cute too!!! I was excited wearing that one.
A homeless guy on the street told me I'm from Cirque du Soleil *I wish*

Let's see what I wear for the rest of my shifts~ :)

Exciting news for W♥C fans!

As some of you probably know, they closed their 109 location,
but opened up with a huge location on shibuya center street right by 109!

I couldn't find any good pictures of their new store :P
Found these in staff blog/press blog :)

The front window is huge!! With swinging kuma~tan!
Its supposed to be a few levels, so
the window is actually 2 stories high★

Staff and huuuuge line. I would love that outfit
to wear around the house hahaha

I love the color of these lenses! I also prefer these larger size
because its better for enlargement :) These lenses are very comfortable
I could wear them all day from when I did my makeup in the morning
to coming home in night. The only thing I did not like about them
is with their coloring design, having the little black dots near the pupil and then
it going into brown. I feel like it doesn't blend that well.
I much prefer lenses with a design that doesn't include that middle ring of dark dots.

I have pretty much the same thoughts as with the brown ones.
For color, comfort, size, its very nice, just not happy with the inner
ring of black dots around the pupil. I do find the grey lenses give
me a sort of more mature look, the color is more cold compared
with the warm color of the brown lens.

Hey hey ladies and gents!!

My birthday was on september 16th!
I had a very very fun and awesome weekend!

☆16th☆

2~6 work (special project!)

7.30 had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants,
East is East on W. Broadway! So amazing!!
We went upstairs into the chai lounge where they
had live flamenco and spanish guitar, $25 all you can
eat of some very amazing afghan and east indian food!
The atmosphere was so great! And with awesome friends!
Forgot to take pictures, but thats ok!

11 headed to the club with my friends and roomies!
Usually on friday nights I go to a place called
Organix, which is a psytrance night at Club 23 West
It's pretty fun! But gonna give it a rest for a while
cuz I've been going every week for a year... lol
headed to home around 4am and me and some
friends started watching Fantasia and after that,
Treasure Island. Around 8.30am everyone is falling
asleep but since I had to work at 10am I just
did my makeup and went to work!

☆17th☆

After work I came home, had a nap until 4pm
and Katrina came over and we headed to Richmond
to do some shopping and purikura and eat!
So I'm posting the purikura!!
We ate at Guu in Aberdeen, my first time there.
Not bad but I prefer Guu Otokomae in Gastown~!

Headed home and then slept!
Had so much fun for my birthday
so thanks to everyone who celebrated with me!!

Tokyo Girls Collection A/W 2011

Earlier this month was the autumn winter edition
of Tokyo Girls Collection. Unfortunately I couldn't
catch the live stream like I did in Spring/Summer
but pictures are just as good :)

Actually, i'm not very impressed with the trends and
looks coming out for fall and winter this year!
Nothing jumps out at me, and I don't enjoy
too much the colors and styles being promoted.

Some of the key trends I noticed are...
(but not limited too)

* Colored tights. This, actually, I like. Because no matter
which color, it has ability to really make an outfit pop.
Now the hard part is choosing a nice outfit!

* Pleated skirt. Potential for being cute, but with color
and fabric choice i'm seeing in the show and magazines... disaster.

* Retro print/cut... burn it....... except polka dots. Nice :)

* blouse and skirt which are draped loosely. Could be cute,
on the right person. Blouse tucked into high waisted
shorts/skirts seems to be the thing,but not for me!

* Colors include blue, mustard yellow, red, beige,
burgundy, navy, green. Retro color mixed with bold color.
(tried to pick the color with blogger colors as best I could lol)

* Star print. Cuuuuute :) Love it　☆！

* Man-ish elements seem to be in too, but
im not feeling that either. Never am :P

*Crochet top, poncho

* USUAL TRENDS: plaid, leopard, fur

There were however a few outfits and styles I
thought were not too bad that I would like to show you.
These are just my taste out of what was shown :)

Vence Exchange. Man-ish style :)

One Spo. Can always count on for cute fluffy and furry

Double Focus. Stars! Cute. Fur legwarmers again,
but I don't think as big as last year.

Hey everyone :)
I'm asking for your diet advice!

I've been keeping a sort of weight and measure journal
from last september, I lost a fair bit of weight, 23lb/10kg
I feel though its not really noticeable, because my proportions
are still strange. My body type is huge boob/huge legs(calves) T_T

So my question is mostly about my calves if any of you have
some advice for me! While I lost 4" from my thigh, I lost 0"
from my calves. They are monstrous and I totally hate them.

What I do now: stretching, walking

I heard endurance running helps to lengthen the muscle
and make it appear slimmer?? Anybody can vouch for that personally?

best thing was my roomie made himself to
"homeless zombie" and had a shopping cart which
we hooked up speakers and my iPod and made a

★★★☆☆

These lenses are really good for wearing
without much makeup as the size is not too big and the
color is very natural. I recieved these in prescription too!

I had a problem with this specific pair of
lenses so I feel I can't properly review how comfortable
they actually are. One side of the lens probably had a
very tiny scratch or hole, so as soon as I put it in either
eye, no matter the length of time I rinsed or soaked,
it really irritated my eye, so I couldn't wear them
for more than like 15 minutes. But I assume they
will be about the same comfort as any other lens, :)

I was also not totally happy with the color,
because the lens looked like a nice honey brown
but it faded into my slightly darker color of eyes.

For this series of Fresh style, from Mukuchu you
can only purchase in brown or grey :)

☆Dad got married☆

I came back from Alberta this week,
I went back to my hometown for my dads wedding.
It was pretty good. I have a lot of step-siblings now,
from both my mom and dad's marriages. Insane~

It was a super casual wedding... I think typical of a small cow-town.
(there was even a half naked old man sitting on the back of his truck)
We had BBQ hot dogs and burgers for the dinner and
there was a lot of beer floating around (but I don't like it)

A few weeks ago my friend Cody was going to the beach,
so I went along with a friend from Seattle, and Lucas.
I made some new friends too, and we built an awesome castle!

We chilled at Second Beach, Stanley Park.

Building trench systems for our moat, so the
water came in from a water pool and left
out towards the ocean. That way, our moat
was never empty!

The water came to destroy our mighty castle!!!

I don't think I really mentioned this to people except a few people
but last month I decided to graduate from BT, was not really feeling
that it was for me anymore. It was something I was thinking about
for a very long time and finally did.

So advice for you all, instead of dwelling on something you want to
do or not, just do it and go with the flow!! :)

After I graduated, I accepted an invitation from my friend Katrina
to join her local circle, Sakuran Bomb. This, im really happy about
because its going to be awesome to actually hang out with members
of the circle im in! Just chill, talk, shop, etc~~~ yahoooooo☆

We met up yesterday to talk about what we want for the circle,
and did some window shopping and some serious sitting in McDix
hahaha.. for like 4 hours.

☆Little Life Update☆

I think I mentioned before, getting a 2nd job at a clothing store,
but that totally didn't work out. That company is so flakey!!
I don't suggest ever applying for any company under the Y.M. group
if its in your country! This is what happened...

①handed in resume, scheduled interview on the spot

②went in for interview, but the girl called in sick and nobody
called me to reschedule so wasted my time and money
getting there, rescheduled when I was there

③came again for the interview, girl was there, but they lost my resume,
so my interview was rescheduled again for a time I bring a new resume in

④had a literally 3 minute interview, hired, given new employee signoff package

⑤filled out all the paperwork and got all my bank info the
following week and went back to give it to them,
told they would give an employee number within 1~3 weeks

⑥1 month passed, I called them, and they said they are still
waiting on head office called again 2 weeks later, the girl
who answered had no idea what was going on

⑦1 month later, I just give the fuck up on that job. So flakey and disorganized.

So I'm still working at the lingerie store but its in the next city over, kinda pain
in the ass to get there for the shifts especially when I get only short shifts :'(
And I get so many customers who can only speak mandarin,
so lose my sales because I can't help them.... lol

Luckily, my friend hired me as her design assistant for her clothing line!
But its only as an 'as needed' basis~

Luckily again, re-hired at the shoe store I used to work at starting from next month!!

Now, just need to find a job to replace the lingerie store,
I hope I can get one within Vancouver. Trying to get something non-retail!!

These lenses are really cute! And because they
are only 14.00 mm you can still wear them without
heavy makeup and it won't look very unnatural at all!

I find them a bit uncomfortable after about 5 hours
of wearing them, even though they are a little thinner
than my other lenses.. I don't have a problem with long
periods of wear with my other lenses.

For the Bella series you can only
purchase the brown and grey in prescription
from the mukuchu webshop.

Also, the light grey part you see in the stock photo does
not cover the natural color of your eye very well,
so if you're eye color is too different from grey,
it might look a little strange.
You can see what I mean when you look at the photo
of the lenses which are inside the case and not on my eye

Boston for the Stanley Cup and lost....

and what do we get?? A bunch of morons
rioting and looting and rumors of people died.

I kind of wish I was there to capture the action

glad im not cuz im safe in my home :)

★Sunday BBQ Picnic★

Me and the crew had a picnic on friday!
A lot of the mexican crew I had never met
before but they were cool~ Will be nice
to chill with everyone again (another bbq? I hope)

Vancouver is awesome just because my friends
are from everywhere. (just sad when they leave!!)

The BBQ picnic on sunday was near second beach
in stanley park. It was quite a busy beach so
we couldn't get a table but we wouldn't
be able to fit everybody anyway...
I think more than 30 people showed up!!
Everyone is really cool- we all met thru music and events

Didn't even wear bottom lashes but you can
really see the difference a good pair of lashes will make

New Nails!!

I went back to Lady Orchid's to get my nails done on monday!
Maybe some of you remember the post I did for them
when I got a facial~ This time I went to get my first nail set!

I usually paint my own nails and add my own parts
because it saves me money, but I finally decided to
try my first real set. I was gonna do gel but wanted
extension so did Acrylics (which will cost more)

I went in thinking I wanted to do some kind of
purple leopard print but ended up to zebra instead!!
I super love them!!

The nailist is a Japanese girl named Kaoko,
She was super nice too and professional~
She's been doing nails for about 8 years

If you're in Vancouver/area check
out the spa and get your nails done!!
Its a fun atmosphere too cuz all the staff
are awesome n friendly★

I'm gonna hate this trend unless I can find a cute one!!

So for spring/summer, big sunhats are supposed to be trending.
Good thing for you gals who hide your skin from the sun~
Bad thing for you gals who want a nice tan~

Either way its been reported in a few occasions already.
(fashion blogs, western gal blogs, and tv that i've seen so far)
Sunhats also come in a large variety of styles... like floppy, fedora mix,
crushable fabric, etc so it won't be hard to find one you like im sure★

SAKE☆SUNDAY, the 2nd annual sake sunday event
at Hapa Izakaya (kitsilano) was on last sunday night!

Saw some new friends, and old friends, so it was good~
In the fine company of Taka (hapa staff),
DJ's TwinCle Marin, TwinCle Misaki, and DJ Hayze
(or rather, Marie, Misaki, and Ben :P)
of course, with my family Ryota and Lucas,
my buddy Mike and crazy ol' Spandy Andy who
I actually don't know but see him all the time.

As per usual, didn't take my own photos.
But I'm sure Mike doesn't mind I show a few :)

$15 cover got us a free drink and unlimited appetizers :)

9pm was music show start!
2 guys (classic guitar, drum) which was ok, then,
1 brother and 1 sister singing a couple songs... then,
3 girls playing keyboard,guitar, singing some songs...
that part was so boring though, each song those girls
sang was the same slow beat as the last they played.

my bros!

after that, a small DJ set while they cleared the floor
of instruments and then the dancing began.
At first it was the Hapa staff doing hip hop dance,
but after the most comedic dancer in Vancouver
come to the floor! Spandy Andy! I see him everywhere!
That was a lot of fun! Very entertaining.

After the dancing, some crazy dancing happening
on the dance floor and then shortly after we had
to leave and put Lucas to bed~

It was a fun night!
Pretty packed too, we couldn't get
a table at all, or a seat for 90% of the night T_T

Now I still need to get a cord to get pics off my cam
from valentines event -_-

Hey! Haven't been updating for a while, sorry.
I've been going out a lot and ....not having a working
camera kinda defeats the purpose of blogging...in my opinion~
But good news! My friend gave me her camera charger
so now mine works a bit. (it's still fucked tho-hate broken technology)
I can also use my friends camera, but we don't have any cords to
hook it up to my computer. SD card doesn't fit either, oops :P

We're gonna try to find a cord so that at least I can
upload pictures from Feb.13th Valentines Party!

Last thursday, I got my first facial ever!
I always thought 'whats the point?'...
but after trying it, I want to go again and again!!
Super relaxing!

As I mentioned, its my first time getting a facial.
It's also my first time ever to use spa services.
For my first spa visit, I really liked it.
The girls were super nice♥♥♥

Sorry!!! No Happy Ending!!!! hahahaha

I forget the name of the girl who did my facial,
but she was really great to talk to~
The facial took about 1 and a half hours,
and there was always something to talk about
with her~ Funny jokes too :)

I didn't get any before or after photos, as you know
my phone is very low quality for the camera T_T

My facial was called ~Glee-Ming Dynasty~
From website:
"If an alabaster complexion is what you are after,
then look no further! Our treatment highly refines

utilizing fruits, peeling, & plant placenta for a golden revealing."

I thought it was good because my face is
a bit darker than my neck, so the whitening
helps to match the color a little more :)

The girl used a milk cream cleanser, then a France Laure
pineapple and papaya exfoliant~ She also did some extractions
(ew it was sooo gross!! How this stuff can come out of my face!!!)
also a fruit extract toner~ She also applied something
called Evolv Gel which helps to reduce redness and refresh the skin~

I tried the UP5 treatment too though I think I didn't need it,
it might be helpful for older ladies with sagging skin or
concerns about their skin~ Anyways, the UP5 treatment
is helpful beacause.... from website:
"Promote collagen, firming, and lifting of the epidermis
with our state-of-the art Up5 machine as it restores a
youthful glow and vitality, feeding your skin nutrients
through our cellular repairing deluxe facial, complete
with European massage techniques to revitalize tired-looking skin."

But it was a really cool and fun experience because the
machine they used uses light and sound technology,
and I mentioned to the girl that it reminds me of alien
technology and the sounds were like evil laughing hahahaha☆

At the very end, she used a Dibi 'return to innocence' moisturizer :)
During the facial she also treated me to hand and scalp massage☆

As a side note, they also do WAVE machine workouts
and they also have a japanese nail artist! Her work
is quite cute!! (sorry for the blurry photos!)

I think i've posted something along the lines of this before
in another entry, but I think it deserves its own.

This is what im noticing with gal style, but I'm sure it
goes for many other styles. What im soooo tired of seeing
when people post their pictures is that they make 1 million
excuses a to why they can't change any certain aspect of their style
which if they did change, will improve their look.

I especially hate it when they mention that someone else won't
let them change anything or try something new.
"my mom won't let me!"
"my gf/bf doesn't want me to"
"i'm not allowed"

and please, never, EVER say "i'm too lazy"
because that is soooo not what styling yourself is about!

Do not let other people control your style.

So what if your mom won't let you wear false lashes?
Is she your master? No

So what if your girlfriend likes black hair?
Are you pussy whipped? Maybe. But change that.

So what if your mom calls you a hooker for the way you dress?
Mine did.

Be yourself.
Unless yourself is someone who is controlled easily by others.
Then you don't really have a spirit and passion for the style,
in which case, maybe you should quit.

Friday nite~
Jay, Ryota, and Al had planned on going to something called turbo tweek.
I had no idea what it was, and finally decided to go with them, had 10
mins to get ready, and go~~(thus my style sucked)~~~

Actually I was kinda dissapointed with the event.
It was a rave in a community hall (LOL),
and everybody was fucked up (people were snorting coke in the toilets)
We all had a few shots of jager and spiced rum and
attempted to dance to the music but it was so... undanceable.

It was only $5 to get in tho so not too much of a waste!

Went home around 2.30, tried calling up another friend.
She was piiiiiiisssssed cuz we bailed on her earlier.
She was having a farewell party for someone we didn't really know~

So, while trying to calm her down and head to her apt,
we just had a stupid ass photoshoot haha....
90% of the pictures were terrible!
But it was so funny at the time haha~

Everyone is doing their new years posts... me too!

For new years, I went to my friend Danielle's house party
and it was so much fun!! Didn't get any pictures, but thats ok
I looked so fugly anyway~ Was at work all day :P
The 3 sisters were together that night............
Denise, Danielle, and Diane... so cute, all of them :)

So Ryota, Lucas, and I left around 1am...
Lucas was so tired and I had to work in the morning....

I had a really big problem though with the taxi service
here in Vancouver, waited over 2 hours and didn't even
get a taxi in the end. We called them like 100 times,
was told over and over we were on the highest priority,
yeah right! Liars! One guys said to us "oh a taxi came
to the address and nobody was there"
Liarssss we were waiting the whole time~

Finally I ran up the block to catch one on main street,
and after a few passed me by one stopped, I got in,
told him to go down the block to pick up my little brother
and ryota and the taxi driver got pissed off and said he was
too busy, he couldn't do it, had no time, told me to get out.
I pleaded with him like "please!! there is a 7 yr old kid with me and
its 2 am!! we just want to go home"
driver: "oh no I cannot do that you have to get out I have to go!"
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Anyways!
Got a ride from someone, went to bed... so tired..

Have to work on Jan 1st which sucked...
it was so dead, I don't know why the malls now decide
to open on new years day, of course every employee will
be hungover and tired and every customer is at home sleeping!!
How can they make much profit?? Stupid!

So after a long day of work, went to my friend
Kim's farewell party! He went back to Korea today.
Our friend Manabu is a really awesome artist, and
painted a portrait of him to take back... so sweet!

It's cold! Be warm and gal!

I believe, because most of us western gals are from
more northern climates, its important to stay warm
but stay gal in the winter!

As you saw a few posts back, it snowed here!
Luckily, it melted, but its still sooo cold....

Here are some suggestions how you
can keep warm without sacrificing style!

There isn't such a definite "warm style"
as its more about layering items
but keeping the items trendy to stay gyaru!

I'll start from the bottom up!

As you all probably know,
furry legwarmers are super trendy right now!
For winter, why not try some?
Thigh high boots will always be in style,
or go for booties and pair them with tights :)
Ugg style can be cute too if you find the right pair!

So, you've got your footwear, now you need
some legwear! Even if it's cold, it's always cute
to wear boots with knit long socks! Try
tights with prints like nordic, leopard, or lace.
Damage denim pants will always be sexy too!

If its cold, you can still wear skirts and dresses!
Layer them with tights and long socks.
Skirts and dresses which are tighter to your body
or have lots of layers/ruffles/or fur trim will
help to keep you warm :) Just pay
attention to what prints or patterns are stylish~

With sweaters, you could almost choose anything.
It all depends on your style! Sweaters are always
warm so there isn't much to discuss here :P

This is also common sense and not much needs to be said,
just to reiterate my point, keep your coat or jacket choices
in sync with whats trending and suits your style!
Big right now is Fur coats, Poncho style, Puffer jackets :)

My personal favorite aspect of winter...
hats and scarves!! Can they be any cuter??
These are all pretty much my personal choices
but they are items which will probably always
work with any gyaru outfit you can pick~
Knit and fur items will keep you extra warm :)

it was some chicks birthday but I don't know who she is!
I went with Ayano and Ryota... the party theme was
"pimps and pencil pushers" but I didn't know that

It rarely snows downtown...
so this has saddened me.

One of my biggest reasons for
moving away from my hometown
to Vancouver was that I hated
snow soooo much~ Snow + Cold = NO!!!

I was gonna go for a walk, and
looked outside to see this.... T_T

I know this is not a lot at all,
compared to other regions and countries
but for me it's almost heartbreaking lol

This is my opinion, how I've experienced and
understand gal, so I know some people
will agree as well disagree, its ok :)

I'm not sure if this will seem all over the place
to anyone, the ordering of this is just in
the order my mind thinks...
Some points may appear a few times :P

Gal to me
I do believe there is a sort of lifestyle revolving
around gal style, but in the end no matter how
you look at it, it will always be about the fashion.
Whats new in makeup, clothing trends, hair trends.

When I mention lifestyle, its not para para dancing
though I do enjoy it, but more its like,
busting your ass off at work so you can achieve your style.
You work to get your nails done.
You work to get your hair dyed.
You work to buy the newest trendy items.
You work to buy that new style of lens,
that new style of lashes, that new whatever! :)

Often making friends with similar interests,
its easy to talk to each other, enjoy company,
do the same things, have fun and talk a lot!

Always reading articles, magazines, watching videos,
etc about things related to the style. Researching and
hearing about new fun trends and booms~

The more you know, the more you can expand
your understanding and improve your own look :)
When I first got into the gyaru style, I had nooo idea
what I was doing or what I should be doing.
If you have a passion for the style it will come to you~
I don't stick to just one style either,
I love rock, ame-kaji, sweet/dolly, b-kei, etc...

I really think you can wear ANY style
as long as your makeup is so gal! ♥
You could be kaji, hime, b-kei, mode, whatever :)
There are so many styles and I think
its important for newer gals to really try
to research the looks they like, the brands
they're interested in, the idols they look up to.

There are gal styles which can work for anyone.
I used to be discouraged that I was too pale,
too fat, too white. It takes time to find yourself
within the style of your choice. I often heard,
a few years ago (and sometimes still now)
that people will say you can only be gal if you're
skinny, you can only be gal if you're asian.
No no no!
I sometimes get emails from people
who always ask questions like
"can I be gal if i'm *insert race here*?"
"can I be gal if i'm *insert height here*?"
"can I be gal if i'm *insert weight here*?"
"can I be gal if i'm *insert something here*?"
yes yes yes!
of course! Finding the look which suits you best!
Its the key. It took me over a year and i'm still learning

You don't need to buy brand, or expensive clothes either.
I always shop in clearance racks, thrift stores, auctions.

How to achieve your own gal style???

EMULATION OF YOUR GAL IDOLS

PRACTICE!!!!
My Bulaklak sister Shannon often tells to
people who ask her about her hair,
just to try. To sit down and practice.
Its true! Practice and try everything you can~

FIND YOUR STYLE
I recommend downloading as many (current)
magazines as you can and then looking at them
page by page, if you find you're bored of the magazine,
probably that style isnt for you! When you find
your favorite magazine, you can also find out what brands/styles
suit the look you love :)

NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!!
If you recieve bad criticism, use it to improve yourself.
If you're posted to g_s, blow that shit off! :P

Steps to being gal?
I believe so! But they aren't RULES! They're kind of guidelines!
This is just what applies to me and I think
its a pretty good opinion to share with everyone

1~MAKEUP

There is so much going into this look than
just liner, mascara, lenses, eyelashes.
I find those 4 things satisfy western gals but
it doesn't complete your look.
Here's what you can do!

★ Makeup primer/moisturizer or BB cream

★ Foundation

★ Contouring. I use bronzer to contour my
jawline, forehead, and side of face. Then I use
a lighter shade of liquid foundation to highlight

★ Blush. Pink blush is always gonna be cute so try~
Gals apply quite liberally to be honest haha.
If you think its too much, its probably juuust right

★ Put your favorite lens in. I think if you want to have
a stronger look, lenses really help to pull it together!

★ Eyeshadows on top and bottom of eye.
Follow some tutorials, you can't mess up with eyeshadow.
Even with the natural make trend, they still use a lot
of shadow in neutral color. If you want to be bold, use
bright color for a fun look~

★ liner. Lots of liner!! But don't go overboard :P
Find the shape which suits your eye best because
if you're white and you follow liner tutorials for
asians it won't look right! Just experiment

★ I usually recommend to smudge your liner with
black eyeshadow to make it softer/last longer

★ Apply false lashes on top AND bottom
They don't have to be crazy but it helps your look! :)

★ Nude lipstick/foundation/whatever on your lips + gloss!

★ Eyebrows!! DO YOUR EYEBROWS its so important
for your look! Even if you have black hair, lightening
your brows and using a grey/ash tone powder/pencil
will look soooo good! If you're unsure about your brows,
why not choose a style you like from a model
and ask someone to do it for you?? You could go to a salon
or ask a friend who does her own to do yours.
If its messed up, THEY GROW BACK so dont worry!

★ Eyelid glue/tape. Not totally necessary for white girls
but sometimes it actually does help! I tried it a few times
and it just gives you that extra oomph with your lid and
how you can shadow it :)

★ Fun tip. Don't want your makeup to sweat off?
HAIRSPRAY YOUR FACE seriously lol!!

There is no excuse to as why you cannot achieve
a gal makeup style. There are so many
beautiful western gals, of any race, who can.
So why can't you? It takes time to develop it.
We all started off looking stupid, but practice :)

2. HAIR

(just a sample pic, not the only style of gal hair)

★There is no one hairstyle. You can have curls, wavy, straight
Just remember it needs to be styled. Natural curls
often dont work. Unstyled straight hair looks boring!

★ Style!! In every magazine, there are hair tutorials.
Try them! Also, watch styling videos!!
Instead of going to youtube to search "gyaru hair"
Search for "voluminous curls", "teasing",
"voluminous straight hair" etc! Keywords specific to
you and in your own language :P

Some people argue their hair is too thin, or too thick,
or too fine, too something, which deters them from
reaching their desired style. No way!!
You're just being lazy when you say this.
You haven't really tried everything :)
I have super fine, thin hair. But that doesn't stop me!

★ Color. Natural color is almost extinct in gal.
Some gals totally rock dark/black hair but they've got their
entire look down too. Try lightening a few shades,
or totally changing the color up. My hair is brown,
and I always love to be blonde!
Blonde however does not equal gyaru!
There are a wide range of colors to choose
from so just finding what suits your style,
your budget, your skintone, etc, is important.
Sometimes having your natural color and doing
something funky like 2 tone or adding colored
streaks helps your look. Try highlighting and
lowlighting too :)

★ Extensions. Some people might find this step
to be too much but every gal has probably
had or has now, extensions. They don't
need to be for length either. They can be for
volume or color as well. I think headkandy is
really nice site for decent priced extensions.
Look for extensions in human hair because
they last longer and you can style them :)

★ Take care of your hair using products which
protect against heat styling, treatments for damage,
sprays which help to keep curls, etc. This is all pretty basic :P
When you style, having a great hairspray is KEY!
I found (after recommendation) herbal essences to be pretty good.
Look for hairsprays with "maxium hold", "extreme hold"

3. NAILS

★ Can be short, can be long.
Can be deco'd, can be plain color.
Can be gel, acrylic, press on, or natural!
But gals always have their nails done :P

★ Doesn't have to be at an expensive salon,
you can paint them yourself, you can ask
a friend to do them for you, you can also
go to schools with nail programs and they
do it for cheap!

4. Tan

Look there are so many levels to tanning!
You can be lightly tanned, still pale, but have color.
Or you can be bold and have a sexy dark tan~

I find lots of excuses in the western gal community
as to why they're pale... but I think at least a healthy
color will make you feel better! :)

Doesn't have to be the kind of tan that kills your skin
either. Opt for spray tans, tanning lotion, use bronzers
on your face, etc. Lots of ways to fake a glow :P

5. Follow the trends!

Its simple. Open a recent magazine, disect the trends,
and go shopping :) It's not hard to be
fashionable and gal. You don't need to be rich~
There are so many styles you can follow,
with so many trends, and so many places to get them
(you can see in this post as an example)

★Possible styles:
~ Haady, Onee, Rock, Ero-kawa, Dolly/sweet,
B-gal, Agejo, Hime, Ame-kaji, Mode
There are mooore so find what you love!

★Magazines you can find your favorite styles
and trends to follow which are gal are...
~ Egg, Nuts, Ranzuki, Popteen, Ageha,
Blenda, S Cawaii

★ If you're unsure about your styling/coordinate
abilities, try to just copy exactly what you see.
Find your favorite coordinates, try to see what you
already have, and purchase what you need. Style
yourself the same as you see, you'll start to understand
more about color coordination, balance, what fits you, etc.

When I read people's comments it gives me
a better idea how to word something, or strengthen
a point, or add something I've missed.

GAL HAIR SHOW

MAJOR DISSPOINTMENT OMFG!

BTW these aren't my pictures,
took them from my friend, because somehow
I've lost my digicam charger... so its dead T_T
Also found a few on facebook!

I was with a bunch of friends so at
least I was not bored!

Anyway, there were only few models,
their hair was already styled before even getting up on
the stage, and they spent like 10 minutes each
just posing and fake smiling -_-

Look, the audience looked more gal than the models LOL

Most of the hairstyles weren't what I would
even consider to be gal, aaaannnddd
they went on to put weird shit in their hair
like pizza boxes and bubble tea cups/straws

EGG magazine november favorites

EGG is one of my favorite gyaru magazines!
I feel like in the western gal community
over the years there has been either a hate
or a love for this magazine. I like it because it's
its a more youthful than some mags but still
more mature than some at the same time~
At this point in my life I just cannot get
into magazines like blenda and jelly,
the style is too mature/old for my mind~

So anyway!

What I think are the best/worst coords :)

Its all about my personal style and what
I like to see gals wearing!

First off,
ROMIHI LOVE.
I don't really follow models, but
Romihi is pretty much one of the only
models I do take notice of and like.

Here are 2 little collages of outfits
that I think work well!

(oops forgot to erase the lines top/bottom haha)
1) This was a pretty generic outfit but straight hair love :)
This is more an example of how to wear straight hair and still
look gyaru by having the right make and trendy outfit~

2) I love the playful colors and how this is bold but
still very visually pleasing!

oh hey polka dots!

1) aw cute nordic thats sweet and still looks very warm
for those cold winter days :)

2) geeky trend love happening here.
Looks like an outfit that you could
quite easily wear to school, fit in
and still look gal ;)

3)All I can say about this is ♥

4) My favorite look is miniskirts and
I never wear jeans but this looks
like a simple way to wear trends,
be warm, casual, and stylish.
Items which look easily accessible
in north american stores :)

and here is what I think is an
absolute NO FUCKING WAY
do I hope myself or anyone
would be caught dead wearing this!

1) This might have been okay if she had worn a skirt/shorts
and higher boots but to me this resembles what an old chinese lady
wears in the market.

3) To me this looks blocked up because of the black
its such a contrast. Looks like spring trying to fit into winter trends
I think mostly the tights are hideous with this outfit.

Maple Story

Well, I haven't had much to do lately...

So about a month or so ago, I started playing
an online game called Maple Story.
I played it a few years ago for a few weeks but
couldn't get into it. I think this time,
I got into because there was a new job and
I figured out how to customize my character.

Friday night halloween critical mass

SO, my main halloween plans fell on Friday night.

Jay invited me and ryota to go ride critical mass with him.

Critical Mass is a monthly ride in large cities to
promote green ways of transportation and draw attention
to how actually a lot of people criticize cyclists and aren't
nice to them/dont treat them fairly as traffic, etc....
It's kind of like a protest in a way.

sooo anyway friday nite was halloween critical mass!

I haven't actually seen it besides commercials hahaha
but it was sooooo funny

I've been window shopping lately, and noticing that
whats hot in gyaru is also popping up and
pretty easily accessible in N. America.

I firmly believe that you do not need to own a single piece
of brand clothing to be gal!

So I'll be spotlighting 5 gyaru trends I love
and showing you some places i've seen them which
you could run out and access instantly without needing
to deal with shopping services, shipping charges, and auction sites.

So first and my personal favorite for the season: FUR!
furfurfurfur!! Fake or real, I don't mind!

Here are some looks you might have seen in some magazines

I've got furry legwarmers so far,
and looking for the perfect keychain~

Second, I'll talk about: PONCHO/CAPE

It's trendy this season, but usually is around every season.
I've seen it popping up more in magazines than usual, so I
would consider it a trend for this season.
It's really cute and versatile, available with elements
from other trends too so it ties in nicely with the season :)

Fashion recycles! And what better place to
find cheap, trendy pieces if you know what
you're looking for!! I've been to a few different

Third trend I want to talk about: NORDIC

I have to admit I hated this trend when I first came
across it! I thought it was hella ugly,
but the more I saw it, the more diferent ways I saw it,
I opened up to it and actually have come to love it.
(Just havent found anything to suit me!)
I also haven't found much love for it in N. America
mostly in Zara so go have a look!

Forth.. lets take a look at: ANIMAL

OK! Animal print is in every fall/winter season!
But it never gets old and I never stop loving it.
To keep it current, tie it in with other current trends.
Furry animal prints, deep olive hue animal prints, etc....

paired with lace and chains top. So sexy!

Shit! Everywhere!! Seriously!!
From thrift stores to high end stores.

Last but not least: MILITARY

Military is another trend which is
pretty usual for fall/winter but this year
in gal more apparent as well.

You would usually associate military with a sexy cool vibe/style,
but look at that sweet military style to the right!
Change it up this season!

Military/Army surplus stores with apparel sections

You might think you would only be able to
find boring, cliche military looks in these stores
but you'd be surprised! Camoflouge, Vancouver BC

These of course are just a few examples
and from stores available to me here in
Canada. I tried to include stores available
in the USA too so go out and go shopping.

Also, try going into stores you wouldnt
normally think of ever going in,
sometimes there are really amazing finds!

Spice Girl - Variety Show

A few weeks ago, I was invited to perform in a
variety show as Baby Spice in a Spice Girl group.

REVIEW: Lush Trichomania shampoo bar

Yay~ Another review. I thought this time would be interesting,
because its a product i've never tried and never thought I would have
until I got the sample from Lush.

For anyone who doesn't know, Lush makes handmade
cosmetics from natural ingredients. Vegetarian products, not
tested on animals and they have lots of fun shapes and colors in their products~

Anyway!

So if you go to the site, the sample I had a sample of

Trichomania Shampoo

Coconut softener for dry hair.

The lady at Lush told me that it would be great for my hair, since its
been bleached and colored. She told me that I wouldn't need conditioner
as this shampoo also has a moisturizing effect.

PROS:

Smells amazing!
Affordable Price
Cleanse your hair gently
My hair didn't get frizzy as usual and was easy to style after

CONS:

Doesn't lather well, the site mentions using 3 strokes
and massaging a lather into your scalp but I found
myself really trying hard to even have a slight bubble
Doesn't moisturize as much as I would like
Used a minimal amount conditioner afterwards

I would actually give this product....
★★★★☆
4 out of 5 stars

I want to really try it out regularly and not just a sample.
I've used the sample 3 times so far, and have just enough for a 4th.
If you want to try, I recommend it because I believe it would
behave differently on other types of hair :)
I would not recommend buying a whole big piece,
but try out a sample~

Ugly girl, cute girl? Personal rant

This has nothing to do with fashion or anything so it
might not be interesting for some of you, more of a personal thing for me.

But

I absolutely hate it when a guy calls me cute, my boyfriend calls me cute,
my friends call me cute, and then, at another point in time,
I see a super ugly girl, and my friends call that ugly girl cute.

then...

then I think to myself that I could just be another one of those ugly girls
and im in the same category as them. It's like "oh you think she's cute?
so what do you think about me? I'm the same as her???"

Oh my god.... I don't know if I am writing this in a way you guys can
understand but this has happened to me so many times and I hate it.

OH AND BTW always wear your seatbelts guys!!!
I got a ticket from the police today for $167 .. not wearing my seatbelt... -_-

REVIEW: Rimmel London - The max volume flash mascara

I decided today to write my first mascara review.

"why?" you ask? Because I thought this was one of the
first times I've disliked a mascara.

Left side is with mascara, and right side is not.

Top eyes are an everyday boring girl makeup look,
so with that look, the mascara is a bit visible.

Lower set of eyes is an everyday look for me,
and the mascara is not really noticeable, even with 2 coats!

PRO:

One of the reasons for buying this was the packaging,
the pink color tube is too cute :)

CONS:

Messy large brush, clumps easily

NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL! Sometimes when I yawn,
my eyes water and this tiny bit of tearing led the
mascara to run and smudge. It claims 'waterproof'

Claims to boost volume by 14X by working with a collagen
and keratin formula. Totally did not achieve this effect at all!

Have to apply multiple coats to achieve any effect

The price is cheap compard to higher end mascaras,
but the price is quite expensive for this lower than
average quality product. Next, please!

★★☆☆☆

So in conclusion I give this product 2 out of 5 stars
Because while I disliked it, it could work well
for a whole other group of girls with a natural style

I love this haircolor a lot!!!

Tried out fake short hair style, I like it but I need to get better at
hiding the long hair in the back >.>

Yesterday Ryota showed me this video and I realllllly loved it haha!
It's hilarious, the dancing, and peoples faces on the street, the kids in
the video, and the fact that its Genki Sudo, former mixed martial arts
K-1 and UFC fighter LOL didn't expect that.
It's kinda old but I haven't seen it yet~

On the topic of japanese singers...

Nakagawa Ayumi! 14 year old now...good musician, with sad lyrics~
I like her because she doesn't make that awful nasaly high pitched voice
which most j-pop singers make.
(Ayu is an exception because she used to be good!)

I thought this was an interesting read, but
Gyaru > Guido
There's just so much more to it so I don't really like the comparison.
Probably the only reason for comparison really is the tanning.
But what the hell, a lot of people tan besides gals, or guidos.
So its not a really solid comparison.

I guess its only sad because I love gyaru style, but I can
understand from an outside point of view and how they can
compare it to something north american audiences are familiar with
ooohhh... MTV... haha

Friday
Headed to the Zoo!
We tried to walk thru central park first and
that ended up taking forever. Tried to get the hang
of the public transit and realized how many mistakes
we've made and at this time we're running insanely late!
Good thing nobody showed up for the zoo (I hope!)

The zoo itself was not really worth it I thought-
a lot of the animals I wanted to see cost more
on top of the gate ticket price which was lame.

We decided to go back and then head to Times Square
which was really really fun and a cool place to visit
(though im sure not for new yorkers haha)

Ate dinner at the most amazing restaurant ever!
Ruby Foo's!! I recommend it to everyone :)

Afterwards consisted of exploring and trying
to find a liqour shop in which we couldn't T_T
Its alright, we were so tired!!

Saturday
We ate lunch and went to chinatown for
sticker pictures which were INSANELY expensive
so please DO NOT GO THERE if you are visiting NYC!!
DO NOT GO TO CHINATOWN FOR PURIKURA!!!!!!
(it cost us $55 for one set plus a copy of the set)

Met up with Katsu, Yanise, David, and a girl which
I forgot her name so im so sorry!! lol
Had a lot of fun at Karaoke!! I wish there was
cheap karaoke like that in Vancouver!!!!!

After Karaoke, went back to hotel to get ready for clubbing :)
Hachi and Eden and Yi met us in the club,
and the club was pretty lame until about 2am
so felt sorry for the girls! They left before it got any good.

There were a shit load of guido's and it was a total
dickfest in that place, but the acrobats and
other interesting things which were part of their circus theme
were what made it a little bit better :)

Sunday
Emily and Justin had to leave
quite early to the airport T_T so sad
Me, Shannon, and Tina met up with Yanise and David
to have a picnic in central park :) It was a nice,
relaxing time. Afterwards headed to flushing to
meet up with Amber, Eden, and Hachi :)
Took a bunch of purikura which can be seen in
my previous entry :) They were all fun!

Sorry guys I don't really have anything

I'm still job hunting and babysitting.

On Canada day, I decided to go to alife in gastown for their summer sale + BBQ
It was my first time in there, and I really liked what I saw☆
I got a freakin' awesome hat!!!!!

The color is super hot pink,
but as we all know purikura lightens up everything :P

He is an aspiring recording artist which I met laaast year? at my
friends Brithday party.

There is a store in Metrotown (big mall here in BC) called Mimi McQueen
which usually has really cute stuff. I often shop there~ :)

The dress is from a chinese store in Parker Place (super chinese mall in Richmond)
50% off so I couldnt resist~

The crazy thing is that im supposed to be saving
money to go to Japan this year again,
but I keep spending.

Recently I've been finding a lot of actually cute clothes in
Vancouver, which is really strange because usually
everything is so casual or ugly.

This season Trafaluc in Zara had the cutest
skirts and short which I really wanted to get!
But by the time I decided to spend the money and go,
the styles I wanted were already sold out.

This is a lesson to all you gals!
You spot something you love, dont think twice! Just buy!

About 2 weeks ago I went to go see my favorite
Vancouver group play at Caprice on Granville Street.
I first heard these guys at a fashion show the store I was
working at participated in, I got a free CD from them and fell in love~
The cool thing is they opened for Kid Cudi last winter when he came~
I wanted to go to see them but the same
night was Lady Gaga (which Kid Cudi opened for lol!)

My friend took video, but I dont think he is ever gonna upload it,
so I just have a picture~

I went to richmond nightmarket last night with Lauren and Ryota :)
I don't have pics from the nightmarket (wtf why not!?? lol)
But I have pictures of the only things I got~

I wanna go back and see if they will get any better stuff,
its not so great this year!!! I was a little bit dissapointed,
but at least the taiyaki is still there!! My favorite :)

My trip to Tokyo, part 3 March 28~April 6

Last part....
The end is near!!
Even though i've already come back, just writing the
end of my trip makes me feel a bit sad :P

March 28

I had no plans again today so I just tried to call a few of my friends.
Eventually I got a hold of Youko and went
to Shinjuku again to meet her.
Our time was sooo short because she had to leave by 6.30...
was also the last time I saw her in Japan.

We went into some department store and the style
was just a bit too old lady for me,
so we went out and I bought the most delicious crepe
ever hohoho strawberry, chocolate cake and nama cream (whats that??)

By this time it was time her for to go....
so I just went to shibuya again to wander around and
get myself more used to the area so I wouldnt get lost anymore.
There were a lot of people out this day in really cute clothes :)

March 29

I felt so blah this day and decided not to do anything at all....... I had
absolutely no energy or will to go anywhere :P

March 30

I also felt so shitty today! Maybe I was having a cold or something.

Just spent my time watching japanese tv programs and eating
stuff from the konbini~
As I expected, I still havent gotten sick of konbini food... delicious....

March 31

Feeling better and having an actual plan today!
I was to meet my friend Brendan in Yokohama.
It was funny that he went to japan at the same time I did... haha
Well finding the train and the stop to yokohama
was a little bit scary for me because there wasnt english signs....
yikes... luckily I was on the right way
after a little bit of confusion with what green cars were haha

I made it to Yokohama and waited for Brendan in front of Shakeys Pizza
I didnt try it, but its one of the things I want to try
for sure when I go back to Japan~

Had some breakfast in McDonalds (mmm nutritious...)
and walked around the stations area.
(saw a super cute gal in cocolulu... wish I was skinner to pull it off...)

We headed to Chinatown, this was another
place where I was surprised in my whole trip that
there were so many foreigners.
Somehow, I didnt feel like a foreigner because
Vancouver is like a huge chinatown so it was so normal
for me haha~

There were a few really interesting stores but mostly the same old crap you'd find
in any chinatown anywhere in the world :P

One of the best things though were the looks on most peoples face that me
and Brendan were walking around drinking alcohol at noon...
I guessed most people didnt know this was legal?? :)

Afterwards was COSMO WORLD!!!!!!
I loved that place, actually I just loved the giant ferris wheel.
I've only ever been on small ones before.
Took some really funny ass shot purikura after
and stuck one on the purikura board...
we left our mark in yokohama :)

Checked out a few of the landmark buildings, I really liked the boat docking area or
whatever it was, im not sure, but it was really cool

Heading back to yokohama station to eat, we ended up at a ramen shop,
unfortunately we couldnt read japanese and it was kinda like a vending
machine where you get your little colored card to give to the noodle makers.
Wasnt sure what I ordered though it tasted ok :)

Its Karaoke time!
How many times i've sung karaoke in japan... haha
loved how cheap it was.
The place we went to had unlimited beverages... nice!

Somehow I lost my purikura in the one block between
the station and karaoke place so I was super bummed
on my way back to tokyo.....
(but great!! I met brendan again in vancouver a few days ago and he gave me half his)

I think maybe someone picked it up
thinking brendans ass was so pretty~

April 1

omg its april already at this time... time flew so fast.
I went to Shibuya and Harajuku again to find some bow for Shannon~
Though I couldnt find exactly was she was looking for I decided
I'll just walk around trying new snacks :)
Japan had so many interesting things to eat!

April 2

I woke up super late today and spend a while to cook food.
I met up with Ryota's friend Brian in Shibuya around 10pm
Finally, my mission was completed to take a picture with hachiko haha
Brian also came with his friend Jimmy and... I forgot her name... oops :P
We headed to izakaya which was so tasty~
Stayed a few hours and had a lot of fun talking,
headed back to the station.

I had the worst happen though!
I didnt realize that the train will not go all the way to tokyo station
and I was stranded in shinagawa station with no phone to call anyone...
was debating whether to just sleep in the station or take a taxi...
I ended up taking a super expensive taxi................. ouch... my credit card........

April 3,4,5.....
I cant remember what I did because
I didnt write it down.... ooops ;P

I remember I was at hanami and hung out with a random
group of people and we all got hella wasted

My last day..............................................
Wake up, eat, and take the train to narita airport to catch
my flight back to Canada.... was so sad.................
Japan! I'm coming again... wait for me :)

As a final thought... I wish I would have had more time to plan my trip, and plan
time with people so I was stuck with days not doing anything most of the days :P
I also didnt have a lot of money, the trip was spur of the moment,
my boyfriend just bought be a ticket to go, so I went!
Thank god Ryota helped me out with some cash and people to hang with
in tokyo!! I think I might have had a bad time if not.

My trip to Tokyo, part 2 March 23~27

March 23
I could finally sleep in a bit longer, my sleep schedule was getting back to normal.
Headed to tsukiji fish market for breakfast, tried a lot of samples of food. Some was sooo horrid, but some was sooo tasty~~ Walked through Ginza... totally uninteresting.

Today the plan was to go to Akihabara. I dont know what I was expecting by going there...
nerds? Well, it was true. A lot of nerds, and maids haha.

I couldnt find anything interesting to do so we headed over to the blood donation bank
and morito gave some blood so that we could have free snacks and juice and I just
sat there reading fashion magazines. It was an ok afternoon~ :P

I tried bidet toilet for the first time in my life, lol......
not as strange as I thought it would be.

Went for more purikura and karaoke~ what else to do???

I felt like eating pizza for dinner, finally found a pizza place.
PIZZA HUT. I used to go there a lot in my hometown,
but I was shocked to find out how much pizza costs there... and its so small too.....
But it was incredibly delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 24
Moritos birthday but the weather was so shit and raining.
Went to Tokyo station for a few hours eating samples and junk food,
found a taiyaki place... sooo great~ I love taiyaki, one of my favorite japanese foods.
Went to Ginza again (yawwwn)

and later just bought more and more snacks and cakes haha
I was super piggy in Japan.

March 25
Was also raining a lot on this day.
Couldnt I have any sunny days?! damn....
I was by myself this day... had nothing to do....
watched TV and ate konbini food,
but thats alright because I love TV and konbini food :)

March 26
I tried to go to Shibuya by myself today.
Was my first time to check out 109,
I found a lot of things I wanted but the prices were more than I wanted to pay...
so I just window shopped and people watched.

Tonight was one of the things I looked forward to the most on my trip,
going to my first para event!! @ 9LoveJ
Met Heather, Max, Jasmine, and another boy I forgot his name oops :P
Went for purikura (I looooove purikura~~!)
and headed to the event.

It was so much fun to meet people and dance with them, even though
there was a language barrier, everyone just goes for fun.
It was great! Ended arounf 5am and we went for breakfast~
then found my way back to tokyo station haha....
soo fun night I cant forget~

March 27
I slept just a few hours,
today I had an appointment to meet up with Ryota's friend Patrick and
go to Hanami in Yoyogi Park. He was really kind :)
Also his friends were fun and nice too~
After staying in the park for a while we headed to roppongi and ended up in
"Kingston Bar" which was a small cool reggae place, good time~
Had a drink there and headed back to Shibuya
for dinner at some kind of thai/malaysian
place which was pretty tasty.

During dinner watched the K-1 fight and it was funny
to see some guys fighting style was "anime" wtf... haha

After dinner when to Ebisu to check out a lounge "NOS" which was pretty nice too~
Drink a little there, and go back to Shibuya haha.

Patrick took us to a really nice nice nice bar "Rainbow Country" (?)
I loved that place the most, it was small, cozy, chill, relaxed, friendly....
great time! A lot of the people knew my friend in Vancouver
which was funny I was surprised :D

The owner of the bar did a sanshin performance too~
that was great, never heard something like that before!

By the end of the night it was like 4.30 am so obviously the train wasnt running...
but Patrick let us all crash at his place.
I'm always happy to meet nice people :)

My trip to Tokyo, part 1 March 18~22

As some of you know,
I went on a trip to Tokyo in March for 20days.
It was my first time, and it was amazing!!

I kept a tiny notebook to track what I did each day,
so im writing this day by day :)

March 18th
I stayed up all night and watched Disney movies with my friend,
he was goingto drive me to the airport in the early morning,
so he decided to stay up as well.

At the airport, we had kind of a burping contest,
so I could laugh a lot, but I was hella exhausted.
The flight from Vancouver to Seattle was delayed :S

And the flight from Seattle to Tokyo felt like an eternity
because I was sooo tired,
and I couldn't sleep because of the stupid kids on the plane...... grr

March 19th
Arrived in Tokyo in the afternoon, and took the train to
hachobori station where I was staying during my trip.
I ate dinner, and fell asleep soooo fast and for so long too
so I basically wasted this whole day haha

March 20
Of course, knowing me, my first stop was Shibuya!
Ate lunch at a place called Casa del Bueno...

my first outside food in Japan,
it was pretty cheap and pretty tasty.

The waitress was also so funny and nice.
Walked to Harajuku after for some shopping.

I didn't really find any shops I was interested in but also
because I didnt know where I should go.
That place definitely needs time for exploring more.
I found some cute accessories though~

Went back to Shibuya for yakiniku and karaoke~

Also, this day I was so tired... so it was a good sleep again.

March 21
I met up with Youko today
(Youko used to be my roommate in Vancouver)

I was so happy, I missed her soooooooo much!!!!
It was my first time trying to go somewhere by myself,
but luckily I could figure it out~

First we went to the Shinjuku government building
for the sightseeing of Tokyo, and I could make a really cute
keychain of myself (which I already lost lol)

She took me to Shinjuku where we went shopping in Alta.
I got 2 really cute sweaters and a really REALLY cute and cheap dress!!!
Surprised I could fit M size because I always
heard about the sizes being so different...
well im sure if they were more fitted I might need L :P

Went for purikura after and off to Kabukicho...
thinking we might get the chance to see Dragon.

Dragon also used to be my roommate in Vancouver,
and he's working as a host in Kabukicho as far as we know,
last heard from him last august...

We couldnt find him, and there were a lot of hosts trying
soooo hard to get us to come over to their clubs.
Its kind of a pathetic when you think about it.
Most of them I told "Ask me in english, maybe I'll come"
but haha... most couldnt even understand that.

Headed back to the station after to find my way home.

March 22
I went to Asakusa with Morito to check out the big temple,
but,..... it was under renovation and covered with a tarp lol!
Nice timing.... hahahaha

I made a wish inside but then I had a super bad
fortune from the omikuji :(
Decided to go for some takoyaki and fed leftovers to pigeons :)
I was surprised I always heard Asakusa was a traditional area,
but I found so many game centers and department stores,
just like any other area haha.
